Why Change the Default Social Network Icons in Social Forward

Although many users recognize the default social network icons contained in the Social Forward feature, you may wish to change these icons to change the size of the icons or better fit your branding or email design. 

How to Change the Default Social Network Icons in Social Forward

Follow these instructions to use custom icons to represent social networks in an email using Social Forward:

1. Create your custom icon and save it as a .jpg file. It must be a .jpg file unless you're replacing the ShareThis icon, which should be a .gif.
2. Log in to your ExactTarget account and click the Content tab.
3. Click Portfolio > Social.
4. Right-click on the icon you want to change and save the image to your computer. Keep this image as a backup in case you want to use it later. Note the exact name of the image you save.
5. Back in the ExactTarget application, select the icon you want to replace and click Delete and OK.
6. Click the Single Upload button, choose the new icon file, and enter the name and external key for your image. Make sure this information is exactly the same as the previous image. Click OK when done.
7. Insert the icon as you wish for your Social Forward emails.

If you want to return to the original icon, repeat this process using the original file.

If you do not save a backup of the original icon, you will not be able to use it in the future.
