This page presents instructions on taking information from a form located on a landing page and using it to create a Lead record inside an instance of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This action also creates a campaign response for that lead in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
NOTE: In order to use Smart Capture with Dynamics CRM, the Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Web Collect, and Microsites features must be enabled. In addition, the Dynamics CRM feature must have the Smart Capture quality enabled. Please contact your ExactTarget representative for more information.
- Build your Landing Page, leaving a content area for the Smart Capture form.
- Click the content area and select Create Content.
- Select Smart Capture.
- In the Define Form Processing screen that appears, click the External Source radio button and select MSCRM Entity in the dropdown menu next to the radio button.
- In the Select an MSCRM Entity dropdown menu that appears, select Lead.

- Click Next at the top of the workspace.
- Make any customizations to the appearance of the form you wish and click Next when you're finished.
- The Smart Capture form adds Company, Last Name, and Topic fields by default. Add more fields by clicking the Insert Form Field button or clicking Insert at the top of the workspace and selecting Form Field.
- In the Insert Form Field window, click the Target Data Field radio button and select the appropriate object field in the dropdown menu.

NOTE: You can create fields using the Manual Settings radio buttons, but these fields will not automatically map to Dynamics CRM fields. You will have to manually create these mappings later.
- Select Text, Password, Textarea, or Hidden Field in the Field Type dropdown menu.
- Type in the Field Name, Field Label, and Default Value for your field, and enter the maximum characters using the Max. Length dropdown menu. Repeat this step to add as many fields as necessary.

- To hide any of the required fields you don't want to use, click Edit, select All Fields, select the field you want to hide, and set the Field Type dropdown menu to Hidden in the Form Field Properties window.
- Click the Processing tab in the workspace.
- To add additional mappings, choose the desired field from the Add New Mapping dropdown menu.

- To add a Dynamics CRM campaign response, click the Select An Action To Add dropdown menu and select the Create MSCRM Campaign Response option.
- Enter the GUID of the campaign response you want to use in the MSCRM Campaign GUID field. That GUID can be found at the end of the URL in the browser window from which the Dynamics CRM campaign response is accessed.
- Enter the Property Name and Property Value in the Campaign Response Record Properties area. To add more pairings, select the chosen pairing in the Add New Mapping dropdown menu.

- Enter the web pages to which you want to direct users under Results Pages. You can select from sites for successful entries or errors.
NOTE: You can use microsites and landing pages for these results pages, but you must enter the full URL for these sites. This tab will not recognize personalized URLs.
- Click Save. When the user fills out and submit the Smart Capture form on the landing page, the requested information will be listed in the Dynamics CRM instance.
- After the information is stored in Dynamics CRM, you can set up workflows to send and track email or utilize marketing automation templates to set up premade scenarios for sending email notices to leads.
