How to Create SMS Message Content

Use the following steps to create the content of the SMS message in the application's user interface interface. 

1. Click the Content navigation tab.
2. Click the my content folder. The my content workspace appears.
3. Click the Create Content button. The content creation wizard appears.
4. Complete the Store Content screen and click Next.
5. Select the SMS orientation for the content area and click Next.
6. Enter the text of the SMS message and click Save.

NOTE: Do not copy content directly out of a Microsoft Word document into the SMS content area, as special characters taken from Word can create an error at the time of the SMS send. You should write your content in the content area text field or use a program like Notepad or TextEdit.

NOTE: If you use AMPscript in your message content, you may see whitespace in your message that could affect the 160-character limit. To solve this problem, you can enclose the content in a variable, use the AMPscript Trim() function on that variable, and then output the content to your SMS message.

You can enter the content of an SMS Message in the SMSTriggeredSend.Message field when you trigger the message with the API.
