How to Allow Customized Local Content In an Email
For a new email complete the following steps:
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
- Click the Create button.
- Select Build New Email from Existing Template from the radio button options.
To Localize content for an HTML built email, create the email first then proceed the steps below regarding existing emails.
- Click the Next button.
- Select your template by clicking the Select Button next to the Template field and navigating to your template.
- Fill in the fields for Email Name and Email Subject.
- Under Content Area Properties, select the Local radio button.
- Click the Save button to save your email.
For an existing email complete the following steps:
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
- Click the Shared Emails subfolder.
Navigate through your subfolders if necessary to find your email. - Check the email's check box.
- Click the Properties button.
The Email Properties window appears. - Select the Unlocked Content tab.
- Select the Local radio button.
- Click OK to save your changes
- To make Local content Shared again select the Shared radio button.
A pop up appears showing the percentage of Business Units that have customized the email with local content.
Note: A pop up appears telling you that the email will revert to its default content made by the owner and all customized local content will be lost.
- Click OK to accept, or Cancel to cancel.
How To Edit Content Shared to Your Business Unit
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder and navigate to your email.
- Click the Email to open the email editor.
- Select a content area that does not contain the
icon and click clear or modify. - Create your own content.
- When finished, click the Save button.
How To Detect the Owner of a Shared Items
How To Detect the Owner of a Shared Email or Content
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
- Navigate to your under Shared Emails or Shared Emails or Shared Contents.
- Check the item's check box.
- Click the Properties button.
The Email Properties window appears. - Note the email's owner displayed at the bottom next to Owner: (e.g., Owner: John Doe)
How To Detect the Owner of a Shared Portfolio Item
- Click the Shared Items folder
- Locate the item you wish to detect.
Note: If you do not see the check box, make sure you are have List selected from the View drop down in the top navigation bar. Also, if you still cannot find your item, check the Show drop down selection in the top navigation bar and change your selection to All Items.
- Check the item's check box.
- Click the Properties button.
The Email Properties window appears. Note: If no information is displayed, click the + on the Properties tab to expand.
- Note the item's owner displayed at the bottom under Owner: (e.g., Owner: John Doe)
How To Change the Owner of a Shared Email, Template, or Content
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
- Navigate to your item either through you Shared Emails, Shared Templates, or Shared Content subfolder.
- Check the item's check box.
- Click the Change Owner button in the navigation bar.
- Under Users, select the appropriate user from the drop down.
- Click Save to save your changes.
How to Unshare Content From a Business Unit
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
- Navigate to your item either through your Shared Emails, Shared Templates, or Shared Content subfolder.
- Check the item's check box.
- Click the Permissions button.
- Check the Business Unit you want to edit.
- Click the Edit Permissions button.
- Make your changes.
- Click the Save button to save your changes.
How to Preview and Edit Changes of Other Business Units
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
Navigate through your subfolders if necessary to find your email. - Check the item's check box.
- Click the Local Content button.
The email preview page opens.
The percentage and number of business units that have customized their email with local content is displayed under the toolbar. - Select the business unit whose content you want to preview using the arrow toggle buttons or the drop down selector.
The page refreshes displaying the appropriate content. - Select a new Business Unit from the drop down to preview other changes.
- To modify the changes of the Business Unit displayed, click the Edit button and edit the content as normal.
How to Delete Changes of Other Business Units
To delete the content of a particular Business Unit, follow the steps from How to Preview and Edit Changes of Other Business Units, and delete the content manually after completing step 7.
To delete all customized local content modified by all Business Units, complete the following steps.
- Click the Content tab.
- Click the Shared Items folder.
- Click the Shared Emails subfolder.
Navigate through your subfolders if necessary to find your email. - Check the email's check box.
- Click the Properties button in the navigation bar.
The Email Properties window appears. - Select the Unlocked Content tab.
- Select the Shared radio button.
