What Is the Email Send Wizard

The Email Send Wizard is a program in the application that guides you through necessary steps to send your email. The Email Send Wizard guides you through the following steps.

How To Access the Email Send Wizard

You access the Email Send wizard in the following ways:

  • If you already have the email open in the email editor workspace, click Send Email in the upper-right corner of the workspace to open the Email Send wizard.
  • You can also open the Email Send  wizard from the email workspace, as follows:
  1. In the navigation pane, click Content
  2. Click the My Emails folder or whichever subfolder holds the email. The email workspace displays the emails in the selected folder.
  3. Click the Send button that appears next to the email you want to send in the email workspace.

In both cases, the first dialog box of the Email Send wizard appears. See the next section for instructions on using the wizard.

Choose Recipients Dialog Box

This box shows your Lists and Groups, allowing you to select your email's recipient(s).

Exclude Lists/Groups Dialog Box

This box allows you to refine your recipients, most notably in the case where some Subscribers in your selected Lists or Groups also belong to other Lists or Groups that you do not want to include.

Indentification Dialog Box 

This box allows you to identify a From email and Subject Line (plain or personalized). You can select the Insert Dynamic Content icon next to the subject line, which allows you to create a dynamic subject line. If you edit the subject line in the Subject Line field, the content will only be retained for that particular send. If you click the Create Dynamic Content icon and edit the subject line there, you can select the checkbox below that says whether the change will be retained for the email or not.

Additionally, it allows you to selectSuppress this send from Reports, which sends the email to all subscribers on the designated list without the job appearing in the Performance Reports. Also, this dialog box allows you to Redirect all emails to a single email address. This will generate an email for each of your included recipients, but send them to a single address. This allows you to see exactly how each email will look to each subscriber. If you used personalized merge fields and/or dynamic content in the email, each email will contain the data specific to the targeted subscriber.

Send Time Dialog Box 

This box allows you to select whether to send your email Immediately, or Later. If Later is chosen, you can select the hours between which you would like the email sent, as well as the maximum number of emails that you want to be sent per hour, or No Limit.

Confirm Send Dialog Box 

This box allows you to review the summary of your email's information before sending. If there are validation errors, you will see the Validations errors dialog box.
 

Scenario

Northern Trail Outfitters has created an email and wishes to send it. 
They click the Send button and the Send Email wizard opens.

They click Next and the Choose Recipients box opens

Northern Trail Outfitters clicks the + symbol next to my lists.
The Exclude Lists/Groups box opens.

Northern Trail Outfitters chooses the email they want to send. (In this case they click the box next to send Test email.)
They select Next and the Indentification box opens.

They chose the appropriate From email, enter a Subject , and click Next.
The Send Time email appears.

Northern Trail Outfitters wants to send their email immediately and selects Immediately.
They click Next and the Confirm Send box opens.

After verifying all the information is correct, they click the box next to This information is correct and click Send.

The following screen appears, and they click Finish.

How To Confirm Delivery and Delete a Delivery Schedule

The History feature in the email workspace lists all past and future (scheduled) deliveries of an email. It also allows you to cancel a scheduled delivery if you do not want the email to be delivered at that time after all.

Follow these steps to access the History feature:

  1. In the navigation pane, click Content.
  2. Click the My Emails folder or whichever subfolder holds the email.

The email workspace displays the emails in the selected folder. All emails that have been sent or scheduled to be sent have a History button.

  1. Select the checkbox next to the name of the email.
  2. Click the View History button.

The Delivery Record dialog box displays the date and time of each occasion on which this email was sent or is scheduled to be sent.

  • To view the details of the delivery (sender, list receiving the email, actual content of message sent): Click the hyperlinked release date/time to view the Email Delivery Details dialog box.
  • To cancel a pending scheduled delivery: Click the redx.png button beside the pending delivery.
