Pending and Past Sends

    The ExactTarget application maintains a history of activity for an email as well as a list of scheduled and in-progress sends. 

    What Are Pending and Past Sends

    The Pending Sends feature displays a list of the scheduled and in-progress send jobs. If you click on the Pending Sends button without selecting an email, you receive a list of all pending and in-progress sends for your account. However, you can select a specific email and click the Pending Sends button to view the scheduled and in-progress sends for that email. It's from the Pending Sends window that you can cancel scheduled and in-progress sends. If you cancel an in-progress send, the application shows you the number of subscribers sent to versus the number of subscribers not sent to. If you would like to export that data, contact Global Support

    The Past Sends feature displays a list of the previous sends for the email you selected. In order to enable to the Past Sends button, select an email. You can then click Past Sends and view the send history for that job.

    Why Use Pending and Past Sends

    Use Pending Sends to view your scheduled and in-progress sends as well as to cancel any sends that haven't completed sending. 

    Use Past Sends to view your send job history. 

    How to Access Pending Sends

    Follow these steps to access the Pending Sends feature:

    1. Click the Content tab.
    2. Click the my emails folder or whichever subfolder holds the email.
    3. Select the checkbox next to the email. (This step is optional. If you'd like to view all your scheduled or in-progress sends, just click the Pending Sends button without selecting a specific email.)
    4. Click the Pending Sends button.
      A list of scheduled and in-progress sends appears. If you have no scheduled or in-progress sends, this grid will be blank. You know what status each job is in by viewing the Status column. 

    How to Access Past Sends

    Follow these steps to access the Past Sends feature:

    1. Click the Content tab.
    2. Click the my emails folder or whichever subfolder holds the email.
    3. Select the checkbox next to the email.
    4. Click the Past Sends button.
      A list of past send jobs appears.

    How to Cancel a Scheduled or In-Progress Send

    Follow this procedure to cancel a scheduled email.

    1. Click the Content tab.
    2. Click the my emails folder or whichever subfolder holds the email.
    3. Select the checkbox next to the email.
    4. Click the Pending Sends button.
    5. Select the checkbox next to the job that you want to cancel.
    6. Click Cancel Send.
      A confirmation dialog box appears. 
    7. Click OK
      The application shows you the Cancelation Details page. If you canceled and in-progress send, it displays the number of subscribers sent to versus the number of subscribers not sent to. If you'd like to export that information, contact Global Support
