    The following calls are no longer supported by ExactTarget. While the calls may continue to be available, they should be avoided, and deprecated functionality can be discontinued at any time.

    Ping

    The ping action, previously intended to check whether the ExactTarget XML API was online or down for maintenance, is no longer supported.

    For your reference, the syntax and result of this deprecated call are provided below.

    Syntax

    <system>
  <system_name>diagnostics</system_name>
  <action>Ping</action>
</system>

    Result

    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
  <exacttarget>
    <system>
      <diagnostics>
        <Ping>Running</Ping>
      </diagnostics>
